Triail Ghaeilge Dhroim Conrach do Scoileanna Rialta (TGD-R)

Is é atá sa TGD-R ná tacar sonraí de thrialacha chaighdéanaithe maidir le ghnóthachtáil i nGaeilge. Forbraíodh é go sonrach le haghaidh riaracháin grúpa i scoileanna Béarla ina múintear Gaeilge mar ábhar. Tá na gnéithe seo go léir ag TGD-R:

 

  • Tá sé bunaithe ar an gCuraclam Gaeilge Bunscoile (1999)

  • Tá sé caighdeánaithe ar sampla náisiúnta atá ionadaíoch ar beagnach 10,000 dalta i scoileanna Béarla i mí an Mheithimh 2010.

  • Tá trí leibhéal san iomlán agus tá foirmeacha comhuaineacha ag gach ceann. Tá na leibhéal difrúla oiriúnach le haghaidh daltaí ó rang a dó go dtí rang a sé.

  • Is féidir leibhéal a trí a úsáid le haghaidh daltaí nua na céad bliana sna hiarbhunscoileanna.

 

 

Tuairisceoireacht

Cuireann an TGD-R scála scóir, raoin peircintíl agus scóir sTEN ar fáil le haghaidh an triail ina iomláine. Cuireann sé dhá fhoscála ar fáil:

 

  1. Léamh: Foclóir (Léamh-Foclóir) & Tuiscint (Léamhthuiscint)

  2. Triail Cluastuisceana (Éisteacht)

  

Riarachán

Beidh 90 nóiméad (le treoracha san áireamh) le haghaidh an triail ina iomláine le haghaidh leibhéal a haon agus dhá uair a chloig le haghaidh leibhéal a trí. 

Achoirme ar ghnéithe den TGD-R

The TGD-R is the leading set of standardised tests of achievement ‎in Irish. It has been developed specifically for group administration in English-medium primary schools where Irish is taught as a subject. The TGD-R contains the following benefits and features:

 

  • Based on the Irish ‎Primary School Curriculum (1999)

  • Standardised on a nationally representative sample of almost 10,000 pupils in English-medium schools in May 2010

  • There are three Levels, each with parallel forms.  The different Levels are suitable for pupils in Second to Sixth class.

  • Level 3 of the test can be used for incoming 1st year students in Post Primary schools.

 

Reporting

The TGD-R provides scale scores, percentile ranks and sTen scores for the overall test. It also provides two subscales:

  1. Reading: Vocabulary (Léamh-Foclóir) & Comprehension (Léamh-Tuiscint)

  2. Listening test (Éisteacht)

 

Administration

Total testing time, including instructions, ranges from 90 minutes for Level 1 to 2 hours for Level 3.
